What to Wear at HCA

From Uniforms to Gym Strip, and Hawks' Wear to Free Dress, the following information will help you know what to wear at HCA and where to get it from.

Heritage students have been wearing uniforms since 1998. Casual dress (everyday) uniforms consist of a comfortable crested golf-shirt in either burgundy or white paired with black bottoms, and black socks and shoes. Full-dress uniforms are distinctive Private School dress worn each Day 5 (Chapel days) or on special occasions, and include a white dress shirt and tie for all students. Other pieces vary depending on age and gender.

Uniforms save money, reduce wardrobe hassles, allow students to be well-dressed regardless of family income, and help each student identify with the Heritage community. By choosing HCA, you choose to support our uniform guidelines.

Used Uniform Sales
Used Uniform sales occur throughout the year and are by appointment only while we have restrictions on public gatherings due to COVID-19. Watch for details and appointment booking links in the weekly emails prior to sale dates.
- One parent may attend and must complete a COVID screening form, sanitize hands, and wear a mask while in the school building. There is a limit of three (3) items per student. Payment can be by credit, debit, or cheque.

Used uniform sales can't happen without parent volunteers! If you are interested in helping to sort, set-up, or sell, please contact the office.

Students from Grade 6-12 are required to wear uniform gym strip. Black shorts and shirts are available for purchase from gym teachers at the start of the school year. Each piece costs $20 payable by cash or through school cash online. Students in Grade 5 will change into their own gym shorts and t-shirts listed on class school supply lists. Kindergarten - Grade 4 students do not change for gym class.

All students must have appropriate athletic running shoes with non-marking soles.

Hawks' Wear consists of branded casual clothing that supports our athletic teams and school spirit. This is not part of the official uniform at HCA. Like Free Dress days, there are occasions throughout the school year where students are encouraged to wear Hawks' Wear. Items will be made available through online stores set up at various times throughout the year as determined by Hawks Athletics.

Note: Students who do not purchase official Hawks' Wear may wear their polo shirt or TopMarks hoodie with jeans on a Hawks' Wear Day.

There are 'Free Dress' days throughout the school year. We have a 'Toonie Free Dress' Day most months, which means students donate $2 towards missions or fundraising initiatives and they can come to school in free dress. Please refer to the guidelines linked below and ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for free dress days. Free Dress Guidelines
